Marble Kitchens were approached by builder Paul Wilson for a kitchen installation; Paul had previous dealings with Simon and was very impressed with his skills and quality of work that he didn’t hesitate in using him on this installation.

The installation was situated on a beautiful farm house in Winchfield, the owners were looking to freshen up the kitchen as they were shortly renting out the property. They had already decided to install a Howden’s kitchen range – Burford Cream with an oak effect laminate worktop and pewter handles.

The installation took approximately 5 days from ripping out the old kitchen to completion of the new kitchen including the wall tiling.

The customers wanted their extractor ducted out of the room unfortunately that was not as simple as it sounds, situated in the corner of the kitchen was their soil stack Simon took apart the boxing to find no room through, also located on the outside of the house was a porch which was directly in line of where he needed to install the ducting. Fortunately the bathroom upstairs was also currently being worked on so Simon made the extra effort to install the ducting through the ceiling into the above bathroom through a stud wall and core out through the outside wall.

Mr & Mrs Bramwell were after a complete kitchen installation, they had already supplied their kitchen from B&Q. The customers were planning on having the work done while they were on holiday, they had already used the marble group and said “We previously used marble and were very pleased with the work, they were very tidy, polite and courteous we can trust them in our home”.

This installation consisted of a small amount of preparation work before the kitchen installation could commence, an existing window was blocked and the staircase was made good in order to fit an American fridge freezer. Both these parts of additional work had a plaster finish ready for decoration.

This installation also involved two of the other marble companies, Marble Electrical who undertook all work within the kitchen, connecting all appliances, new socket fronts and even fitting a new ceiling light, as there was no lighting within the room originally. They had to source power from upstairs by removing carpet and floorboards to achieve this for the customers.

Marble Plumbing were also involved in the installation on two separate visits, the first visit was to remove all old pipe work and then renew in the correct position for the new sink and appliances. The second visit was to connect the sink and all appliances.

To complete the job Marble also were handed the wall tiling and laminate flooring to install.

Simon Turner, Marble Kitchens installations manager says, “We try our very hardest to keep our jobs running smoothly; organisation is key to any kitchen project. From start to finish every trade knows which day they are required and what is to be carried out, working as a team means we can keep all promises to our customers and keep to our schedule”.

Marble Kitchens finished right on schedule, Mr & Mrs Bramwell came home and were so happy with the finished result. They said, “We are so pleased with the work that was carried out, Simon kept to his time frame 100% , kept us informed when necessary and we were really pleased with the end result when we came back from holiday. We would recommend all aspects of the Marble group to all our friends and family.”

Mrs Kenning contacted Marble Kitchens for the installation of two bathrooms. Unfortunately, in the en-suite bathroom there was a saniflo macerator pump installed on the toilet which was not in working order. Fortunately, the two bathrooms were situated next to each other, and in the other bathroom there was a main soil pipe. Marble decided that it would be possible to run a new soil pipe across the room and through the adjoining wall into the new located toilet.

We then proceeded to remove both bathrooms and both floors. We removed the floor boards so that we could re-site all pipe work into the correct position without seeing being able to see any visible pipe work or boxings. We then fitted a new moisture resistant chipboard floor to replace the old floor boards for a stronger and level surface to work on. Some of the walls were repaired in preparation for tiling, as they were not secure and some areas also needed plastering to create a flat finish.

We then proceeded to install all the sanitary ware in both bathrooms including a Stuart Turner pump in the airing cupboard to increase pressure required for the new shower being installed.

The en-suite consisted of a small run of built in high gloss furniture with a high gloss black sparkle worktop and semi recess basin, a new 80x80cm shower tray complete with bi-fold screen and new power shower. A new toilet and chrome towel rail were also installed.

In the main family bathroom a 1700×700 bath was installed, complete with a glass screen and prism bath taps, built in high gloss furniture. A high gloss black sparkle worktop was fitted with a semi recess basin and prism basin tap to match the bath. There was also a new toilet and chrome towel rail installed.

Now that all the sanitary ware and furniture was installed, Marble fully tiled the en-suite walls, floor to ceiling. The floor was prepared firstly with a ditra mat which acts as a waterproofing membrane and a bonding material for the adhesive and was then fully tiled. We then fully tiled the main bathroom in the bath area and only half tiled the remaining walls. The same process was completed on the floor.
